| Project Detail : | Singareni Collieries Company is planning to expand Medapalli Open Cast Coal Mining capacity located at Ramagundam Area-I in Karimnagar district of Telangana.
The capacity will be increased from three million tpa (peak 4.09 million tpa) to five million tpa. The project will entail an investment of Rs 219.82 crore.
In January 2020, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) accorded terms of reference (ToR). Singareni Collieries Company is awaiting environment clearance (EC).
The work on the project is expected to commence by September 2020. The project will spread over 1145.03 ha of land. It will generate direct employment for 540 persons and contractual for 347 persons. |
