Project Title :Nutan Mahatma Gandhi Setu project In Bihar

Project Detail :The Road Construction Department (RCD), Bihar, is planning to construct 5.634 km bridge with approaches parallel to the existing four-lane Mahatma Gandhi Setu across the Ganga river on NH-19 at Patna. The project will entail an investment of Rs 2,926.42 crore. The bridge will be 38 mtr on upstream side of the existing MG Setu, along with approaches from 0.00 km to 14.50 km. The four-lane bridge will be constructed between Patnato Ramashish Chowk (Hajipur). The project also includes four vehicular underpasses, one rail-over- bridge (RoB), 1,580 mtr long one viaduct, four minor bridges, five bus shelters and 13 road junctions. In March 2016, Yooshin Engineering Corporation in a joint venture (JV) with Satra Infrastructure Management was appointed as consultant to prepare feasibility-cum-detail project report (DPR). In December 2018, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the project. As per information available with Projects Today, technical evaluation was underway for tender invited on 7 August 2019. The seven bidders that participated are -- ABL GGHB JV, Afcons Infrasturcture, China Harbour Engineering Company, Dilip Buildcon and Shaanxi Road Bridge Group Company (JV), Gamman Engineers and Contractors, Larsen and Toubro (L&T), SP Singla Constructions. The contractor is expected to be appointed by March 2020. The project is expected to be completed by January 2023.
