Description AZE: GARADAGH CEMENT EXPANSION AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECT
Objectives and Scope  
Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Project is consistent with ADB s Country Strategy and Program (CSP) for Azerbaijan (last updated in 2006), which emphasizes promoting economic growth outside of the oil and gas sector . The Project, through its supply of crucial cement products to large local contractors, mainly in transportation, commercial development and urban development, also supports the CSP's emphasis on strengthening the transport and urban development sectors. The CSP also aims to achieve close cooperation with EBRD in Azerbaijan. This is ADB's first non-sovereign infrastructure financing in Azerbaijan.
