Description |
The assistance is a loan of up to $25 million, funded in US dollars, to Saigon Thuong Tin Bank (Sacombank). Sacombank will use up to $20 million to facilitate SMEs access to finance and up to $5 million to onlend to Sacombank Leasing Company (SLC), Sacombank's leasing subsidiary, to fund term leases in response to demand from SMEs in Viet Nam. |

Objectives and Scope |
ADB's objectives for the proposed loan are to (i) create a demonstration effect within the banking industry on the complementary delivery of leasing and credit instruments, (ii) facilitate SMEs' access to the formal financial sector via leasing, and (iii) create efficiency and maximize service delivery on prudential basis to the expanding SME sector through the integrated SME credit reference system from the leasing company to the parent bank |
