Description |
The TA is to assist the Government in improving transport efficiency by preparing a project aiming to (i) strengthen the road sector institutions; (ii) promote domestic and international trade by improving strategic road network; and (iii) improve the quality of life of rural communities by providing access roads.
The TA will assist the Government in (i) formulation of a mid-term road sector development framework, recommending steps for achieving the sector development objectives; and (ii) preparation of a road investment component that is economically viable, technically feasible, and socially and environmentally responsible.
The TA is to help DOR prepare a project of about 200 km of national highways for upgrading and capacity expansion, including improvement of geometric alignment and pavement strengthening as necessary, and about 130 km of new feeder roads for construction. The TA will assist DOR in conducting feasibility study of the roads, including technical options for roads improvement/construction, cost estimates, economic analysis, social assessment, poverty analysis, and environmental assessment.
