The proposed SSTA will enable concerned Government officials from various agencies in Georgia to gain better understanding of ADB's strategic objectives, operational directions, policies, modalities and procedures.
Two seminars on ADB policies and procedures will be financed and conducted under the SSTA, the first in late 2007 and the second by 2008. The participants will be limited to senior government officials who would be responsible for planning and administration of ADB projects.
As part of the capacity building and training activities, the SSTA will also provide funding for a familiarization visit of 2-3 key government officials at the ADB Headquarters who will hold discussions with sector Directors and interact with other regional department staff in ADB Headquarters.
