Project Detail:

The proposed project Halwara Airport is spread over an area of 54.85 ha/ 135.54 acres. The proposed project falls in Category A of project activity 7(a) of the Schedule vide EIA notification 2006 amended to date involving preparation of Environment Impact Assessment study and Environment Management Plan. The proposed development is under consideration because the nearest existing Ludhiana Airport at Sahnewal is a constrained Airport with no land for Runway Extension and other  allied development activities. It is expected that the existing Ludhiana Airport will be closed once flight operation commences from Halwara Airport.

Total Project Cost: Cr. 425
