Project Detail:

OMC has proposed to increase the capacity of Guali Iron Ore Mine from 5.7 MTPA to 30.0 MTPA ROM ore without any increase in mine lease area. To handle the additional ore some of the existing auxiliary facilities, especially mineral processing facilities (crushing & screening), will also be augmented under the present proposal. The mine does not have any mineral beneficiation facilities nor there any proposals to se up such facilities.

Guali Iron Ore Mine is spread over 358.258 ha, in Barbil Tehsil of Keonjhar District, Odisha. The project falls under category 'A' (Sl. No. 1(a) of Schedule: Mining of Minerals of the “List of project or activities requiring prior environmental clearance” of EIA Notification – 2006 dated 14.09.2006. The capital cost of the proposed expansion project is estimated to be Rs. 1020.6354 crores.
