The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has examined the proposal seeking environmental clearance for proposed expansion of Grain based distillery from 165 KLPD to 825 KLPD & biomass based Co-Generation Power Plant from 3.3 to 17.5 MW at Village Jundla, Tehsil Karnal, District Karnal, Haryana by M/s. Haryana Liquors Pvt. Ltd.
Ministry has already granted Environmental clearance vide EC Identification No EC21A060HR123955 dated 26.07.2011 for Expansion of Grain Based Distillery from 165 KLPD to 465 KLPD by installation of new 300 KLPD Ethanol Plant & CoGeneration Power Plant from 3.3 to 13.5 MW for the same proposed site. PP has informed that for contributing to Ethanol blending Programme at the maximum level, the management has decided to install additional 660 KLPD Grain based Ethanol plant instead of 300 KLPD Grain based Ethanol plant. Hence the company is proposing expansion of Grain based distillery from 165 KLPD to 825 KLPD & CoGeneration Power Plant from 3.3 to 17.5 MW at Village Jundla, Tehsil Karnal, District Karnal, Haryana by M/s. Haryana Liquors Pvt. Ltd. Accordingly, Committee suggested to consider the instant proposal for expansion of 165 KLPD to 825 KLPD & Co-Generation Power Plant from 3.3 to 17.5 MW by superseding earlier EC granted. Accordingly, Ministry agreed to consider the request of the PP as per OM dated 29th March 2022 and EC dated 26.07.2011 issued to M/s. Haryana Liquors Pvt. Ltd. became infructuous. The EC granted for expansion of 165 KLPD to 825 KLPD & Co-Generation Power Plant from 3.3 to 17.5 MW to M/s. Haryana Liquors Pvt. Ltd. will be in effect and supersede the existing EC letter no. EC21A060HR123955 dated 26.07.2011.
The estimated cost of the Expansion project is Rs. 236.60 Crores. Capital cost of EMP would be Rs. 18.0 Crores and recurring cost for EMP would be Rs. 2.0 Crores / annum. Industry proposes to allocate additional Rs. 3.00 Crores towards Extended EMP (Social developmental activities).
