Project detail:
I am directed to convey the grant of Administrative Approval and Expenditure Sanction (AA&ES) for the project proposal on “Afforestation programme for the Year 2022-23 in Bihar” under “Namami Gange Mission — II” programme at a cost of Rs. 2588.58 Lakh (Rupees Twenty-Five Crores Eighty-eight lakhs and Fifty-eight thousand only) for plantation, maintenance and conservation work in river bank districts of Bihar namely Bhagalpur, Gopalganj, Mothihari, Begusarai, Rohtas, Aurngabad, Saharsa, Saran, Bhojpur, Patna, Samastipur, Vaishali, Tirhut, Bettiah, Mithila, Munger, Purnea, Supaul and Muzaffarpur. The APO 2022-23 include new plantation in form of block plantation, linear plantation (road side), river side plantation, bamboo gabion plantation, agroforestry and institutional plantation, apart from maintenance work, as per the FRI DPR.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute towards clean Ganga, particularly Anant Van and Aviral Dhara besides maintenance of ecological and geological integrities of the riverscape. The work mentioned in the Annual Plan of Operation (APQ) is part of the overall DPR prepared by FRI, Dehradun for the ‘Forestry Interventions for Ganga in Bihar’.
