Project Detail:
The Program Development Objective of the GOAL Program is to strengthen decentralized management for improved education outcomes in the state of Gujarat.
The AF would primarily scale-up the coverage of the parent Program from a total of 9,000 to 12,000 schools, while also supporting new efforts to test the efficacy of the Program’s interventions. Within the existing GOAL Program boundaries, the proposed AF would scale-up the parent Program to an additional 3,000 schools in Priority Districts to better reach vulnerable students and help with learning recovery post COVID-19. To test the efficacy of the Program’s interventions, the AF will also support Priority Districts with enhancing learning scores on the baseline of the state’s Summative Assessment Tests (SAT).12 These Districts have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, which disrupted education service delivery due to school closures, necessitating enhanced technical and financial assistance.
