Project Detail:
The company has proposed to develop both sides of the Tapi River (for approx. length of 33.6 km from Kathore Bridge to Proposed Rundh-Bhatha Barrage) in a holistic and comprehensive manner and increase its asset value for Surat city. The riverfront is proposed to be developed as a green and recreational space that can transform the existing neglected waterfront into a centre for social, cultural and recreational activities in the city. The project is divided in two phases. The first phase consists of 10kms between proposed barrage and the Singanpore weir. The second Phase consists of 23kms between upstream from Singanpore Weir to the Kathore Bridge.The project will be implemented on the total area of 792 Hectare from which embankment would be on approx. 190 hectare along the riverfront and approx. 602 hectare area will be developed towards landward side . Overall area is divided in to Two phases; from which Phase-I covers with 275 Hectare area and Phase-II consist of 327 Hectare.
Cost of the proposed project would be Rs. 3904 Crores.
