Project Detail:
Augmenting the base oil production volume by setting up new base oil production facilities. This proposal is also pertinent in view of India being a net importer of lube base oils, majority of which is of API Gr-II and III. Lack of indigenous base oil production capabilities in turn incur substantial import burden to the country. Moreover, the base oil market being more stable than the volatile auto fuel market, the proposal is envisaged to bring in additional flexibility to the Refinery during a major price swing.
The design capacity of proposed 2nd Catalytic dewaxing unit will be around 270 Tmt/year. The proposed unit will be capable of producing 100% Gr-III LOBS in addition to capability to produce Gr-II LOBS. White Oil and Transformer Oil can also be produced from the proposed unit as a specialty product.
