Project detail:
Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL), a part of the Jaypee Group was incorporated in 1994. The company owns and operates 400 MW Vishnuprayag Hydroelectric project, at District Chamoli and in Madhya Pradesh the company has built and operates the 500 MW Bina Thermal Power Project as well as the 2x660 MW Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Plant.
Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL) who had commissioned 2×660 MW thermal power plant at Nigrie in Madhya Pradesh participated in the tenderprocess and finally was declared as successful bidder. Coal Mine Development and Production Agreement was signed on 02.03.2015 between Nominated Authority and JPVL. The vesting order No. 104/9/2015/NA in favour of JPVL wasissued on 23.03.2015. All the statutory clearances were transferred in the name of JPVL and finally mining lease deed was signed on 25.05.2015. Thereafter regular mining activities commenced from 26.05.2015.
The project is a proposed expansion of its operational Opencast Mechanized Coal Mine project, seeking an enhancement in production capacity from 2.8 to 3.92 MTPA in the same mining lease area of 728.75 Ha. Project has been classified as “Category-A” Non-Coal Mining Project as per the EIA Notification dated 14th September, 2006. No washery is required as the coal is directly used in the end use thermal power plant.
