Project Detail:
Eklama (Kawardha) Iron Ore mine is over an extent of 274.896 Ha. in Forest Compartment Nos. 207, 208 & 214, Forest range: Sahaspur Lohara, Forest Division: Kawardha, Eklama Village, Bodla Tehsil, Kabirdham District, Chhattisgarh. The total Geological reserve is about 15.20 Million tonnes (Mt). It is proposed to produce 1.2 Mt/yr of Ore (ROM) by fully mechanized method.
Fully mechanized open cast method of mining by drilling and blasting and by deploying HEMM equipments like hydraulic drills and excavators, wheel loaders, dumpers, will be undertaken. The working of benches will be commenced from top and extended to bottom benches. The excavated ROM ore is proposed to be processed in the crushing and screening plants to obtain the lump and fine ore as product mix. The total manpower required for the project will be about 178 people. Water requirement is about 99.3 KLD and will be met from bore well and rain water harvesting pond.
