To ensure timely execution, the ministry regularly engages with state maritime boards, government agencies, and stakeholders through project-based and state-level meetings. The Maritime States Development Council (MSDC) has conducted 20 meetings, while the National Sagarmala Apex Committee oversees policy guidance and high-level coordination.

Beyond economic growth, Sagarmala strengthens India’s maritime presence in the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean. By modernizing ports and boosting trade, the programme enhances India’s competitiveness as a global maritime hub.
