Project Detail :The National Highway Authority of India has invited bids to build a 14.52-km long six-lane bridge across the river Ganga between Sherpur of Danapur and Dighwara in Saran district at an investment of ?4,994.79 crore. Chairman, NHAI, Alka Upadhyay, informed that it is the ninth bridge in Patna district on the river that divides Bihar into two parts. NHAI has already allocated funds to construct a 9.45-km-long bridge along with 5.07- km-long approach road and the upcoming bridge is scheduled to be completed within the next three years with ramps at Gangahara in the riverine areas between the streams of Ganga

Patna-Dobhi section of NH would be completed by March next year. Bihar’s road construction minister Nitin Nabin informed that NHAI would complete the tender evaluation process for the new bridge and will award the contract to the eligible player company by the end of September this year
