| Project Detail : | The governing and executive body of the state government (KIIFB) has approved 55 new projects involving an investment of Rs.2,002.72 crore. Most of the new projects pertain to building rail over bridges, roads, and other bridges. The body has decided to generate Rs. 1,100 crore funds from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The loan from IFC will help in availing loan from other international agencies like JICA and ADB. IFC will also render technical assistance for public-private partnership projects financed by KIIFB. The governing body sanctioned ?1,030.80 crore for land acquisition for the Kochi-Bengaluru industrial corridor. Prior to this, KIIFB had approved ?12,710 crore for land acquisition, mostly in Palakkad district. Taluk hospital, Peravur in Kannur, will get ?22.16 crore for infrastructure improvement, while taluka hospital, Malayinkeezhu, will get ?15.25 crore for the construction of new buildings. Till date, KIIFB has approved 730 projects under various departments at a combined investment of ?56,394 crore
