| Project Detail : | Varun Beverages (VBL) has started commercial production of soft drinks and energy drinks from its production facility at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. VBL, a leading bottler of beverage major PepsiCo is investing about Rs 1,100 crore for the greenfield project. Besides, VBL is also set to expand production capacities in the juices and value-added dairy products segments in 2024, from this facility. In its 2023 annual report, the company had stated that commissioning multiple greenfield and brownfield beverage manufacturing lines in 2023 would be set up to meet increasing consumer demand and tapping into new market opportunities, while also focusing on strengthening its distribution network and chilling infrastructure. VBL has commissioned new production facilities at Bundi in Rajasthan and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, and expanded capacity at six existing locations - Pathankot, Kosi, Bharuch, Tirunelveli, Begusarai and Guwahati. VBL manufactures, markets, and distributes a range of PepsiCo-owned products, comprising carbonated soft drinks, carbonated juice-based beverages, juice-based beverages, sports drinks, and packaged drinking water. As of 31 December, 2023, the company operated 40 manufacturing facilities, 34 in India and six in overseas markets. |
