|Project Detail :||Construction works is set to commence on Nyagatare-Rukomo road of 73 km in Rwanda following the launch of the project.
The project will be constructed at a cost of USD 48 million. It will be constructed by a Chinese firm, STECOL.
The road project is being financed by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Skills Development Fund (SDF) and Opec Fund for Economic Development (OFID).
The road will benefit the agriculture and tourism sectors in Eastern and Northern Provinces and also return increased trade between the two provinces and the country.
Moreover, it will reduce traffic experienced in Kigali and the distance used to reach different areas.
Apart from this, the Ngoma-Bugesera-Nyanza road has been slated to begin in July 2019, while Base-Rukomo road which is already in progress is also scheduled for completion in 2019.|
