Project Detail :The construction work of the integrated Collectorate has been going on briskly in Srikakulam district with the government keen to make it ready by next Sankranti. The works have been taken up recently following sanction of Rs. 116 crore for the project. According to sources, the State government is particular about the early construction of the project, as it was delayed almost by six years. Weekly review is being conducted on the progress of the project

The integrated complex was proposed in 2010 during the Congress government at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 crore. With changes in the plan and escalation of the cost, the government enhanced the budget to Rs. 116 crore. Initially, 1.4 lakh sft of plint area was proposed but it has now gone up to 2.57 lakh sft. About 50 offices such as Stamps and Registration department, Mines Department, Adult Education Department, Groundwater department and I and PR department will be accommodated in the new complex. With availability of 20 acres of land, the new offices will have ample open space and parking area. The existing building constructed in 1955 houses offices of the collector and joint collector. Collector K. Dhananjaya Reddy told The that the project would be helpful for people. “People have been facing many difficulties with the location of offices in different places. They can save their valuable time and travel expenses with the location of all the offices under one roof. It will be easy for the district officials to attend meetings,” he added
