| Project Detail : | The state and the South Eastern Railway authorities have finally floated tenders for the much-awaited 300-metre Jugsalai railway overbridge project Estimated to cost around Rs 16 crore, the project will be executed jointly by the South Eastern Railway and the state road construction department While the SER floated a tender worth Rs 6 crore in November last year for its part of the job, Jamshedpur division of the department floated a Rs 10-crore tender on December 20 to build the approach roads Sanjay Kumar Singh, executive engineer of Jamshedpur road division, said the name of the agency would be finalised in a month We floated the tender on December 20 last. It will be opened on January 20. We have to acquire some land in Jugsalai. Once we get the land, construction will begin," said Singh On the other hand, Chakradharpur's senior divisional commercial manager Bhaskar said the overbridge's design has been approved by both the parties. "Our tendering process is complete. We are waiting for the department to complete its process. Once work begins, it will be completed in a year," said Bhaskar Bhaskar, also spokesperson for Chakradharpur railway division said, "We will make the portion of the bridge that falls over the tracks. In 2012, the South Eastern Railway (SER) had submitted a proposal for the project, but the state road construction department rejected it, asking the former to submit a fresh proposal |
