Project Detail :The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to start construction work on three new bridges in Bihar in the current financial year, official sources said that work on a four-lane bridge over the Sone at Koilwar would commence shortly and on another two-lane bridge over the Ganga at Buxar also set to start from October itself. Both bridges are being constructed under the ongoing project of four-laning of Patna-Ara-Buxar NH-30 and NH-84. The Patna-Ara-Buxar NH would also be connected to Lucknow-Ghazipur expressway and the four-lane road would have high-speed road connectivity between Patna and national capital. NHAI has divided the 125 km-long Patna- Buxar project in two parts - Patna to Ara (NH-30) and Ara to Buxar (NH-84).On the upcoming bridge over the Sone River at Koilwar as work on 1.5 km-long bridge having four lanes would also commence soon. The bridge will be developed under Patna- Ara NH-30 four lane project with an estimated expenditure of Rs.186 crore by December. With regard to another upcoming bridge at Buxar, the two-lane bridge would be developed over the Ganga as part of Ara-Buxar NH-84 four lane project with an estimated cost of Rs.96 crore. Similarly work on another six-lane bridge over the Ganga near Mokama in Patna district - between Hathidah and Simaria - would also commence in the current financial year and the 8.15 km long bridge has been awarded to a firm at an investment of Rs.714.53 crore
